Our kiln computer; we dry our lumber using a carefully monitored computer system that gives us the current moisture content, calculated from the physical weight of lumber samples in the kiln. As the lumber dries, we have to raise the temperature
higher to draw more of the remaining moisture out of the lumber until we reach the target of 5 % moisture content. The steam heat in the kilns is generated by burning ground up bark and damaged boards, so that no part of the log is wasted.
